چکیده
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) or Brittle bone disease is the most common genetic cause of osteoporosis. The OI is caused by structural or quantitative defect in type I collagen. OI has the triad of fragile bone, blue sclerae and early deafness. O1 type V is characterized by recurrent multiple fractures in a child following ambulation with hyperplastic callus formation at the sites of fracture. This may be associated with calcification of introsseus membrane of forearm and a radidsense metaphyseal band. The diagnosis is usually clinical and may be confirmed by collagen biochemical studies using fibroblast cultured from a skin punch biopsy.

Penetrating keratoplasty for corneal scarring due to herpes zoster ophthalmicus.
We retrospectively studied the postoperative results in nine patients with corneal scarring due to herpes zoster ophthalmicus who underwent penetrating keratoplasty. This was a highly selected group that satisfied all of the following criteria: (a) absence of active disease of the ocular surface and eyelids, (b) intraocular pressure under control, and (c) absence of active keratouveitis. Penetr...
متن کاملAn unusual cause of visual loss after Herpes zoster ophthalmicus: a case report
INTRODUCTION The vascular complications of herpes zoster are well recognised, however, there are few reports of central retinal artery occlusion. Central retinal artery occlusion following herpes zoster ophthalmicus is poorly recognised. This is likely due to the difficulties in obtaining tissue for histopathology to establish causality. We report a case of central retinal artery occlusion and ...

متن کاملHerpes zoster ophthalmicus and delayed contralateral hemiparesis.
Central nervous system is often involved by herpes zoster but it is very rarely seen that contralateral hemiparesis or hemiplegia developed after herpes zoster ophthalmicus. We report a case of herpes zoster ophthalmicus followed by the delayed contralateral hemiparesis. A 33-year-old man developed acute cerebral infarction and resultant right hemiparesis 44 days after herpes zoster ophthalmicu...
